David Angeli has tried a number of complex, high-profile cases around the country, for which he has received national recognition. Mr. Angeli has been named as one of “The Best Lawyers in America” in the category of White Collar Criminal Defense, and was identified by his peers as an “Oregon Super Lawyer” in a survey that appeared in The New York Times and The Oregonian.
A former Navy officer and pilot who served in the first Gulf War, Mr. Angeli received his bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Boston University and his law degree magna cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center. Following graduation, he served as a law clerk to Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Thereafter, Mr. Angeli practiced law at Williams & Connolly LLP in Washington, DC, and was a partner at Stoel Rives LLP in Portland, Oregon.
Mr. Angeli is a Vice Chair of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ White Collar Crime Committee and is a member of the advisory board of the Bureau of National Affairs’ White Collar Crime Report. He is a former member of the Oregon State Bar’s Uniform Criminal Jury Instructions Committee and serves on the Board of the Oregon chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Mr. Angeli has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Lewis & Clark Law School, where he taught a federal white collar crime seminar.
